Word Builders
You Say, I Say!
Build a little conversation from a word your child already knows.

Start with a little play.
Listen for a word.
Notice a word your child uses while you play or go about your day.
Add a little more.
Repeat their word with one extra detail. If they say “ball,” you could say “blue ball.”
Keep the conversation going.
Follow what interests them. When they use two words together, try adding another.
Something you could say
Blue ball.
