Visit a neighborhood bookstore and give your child time to explore. Notice what catches their attention and choose a story together.

Look for early literacy activities at your local library. Stories, songs, and time with other children can make reading a shared experience.

Give a story a place in your day.
Settle into a comfortable spot at bedtime or another quiet moment. A few pages together can become something your child looks forward to.

Fold paper into a small book. Draw pictures, invite your child to tell you what happens, and write down their words together.
